BioI'm Sugar, a twentysomething aspiring writer and wannabe folklorist who loves to listen, talk, and learn, and this is my cooking show-- I mean, blog. This journal is an exploration of inner journeys of my life, a way to keep up with friends and meet new ones, and an exercise in venting. Topics you might expect to see covered are: Spirituality, Folklore, Animals and Pets, Fat Acceptance (FA), Health at Every Size (HAES), Feminism and other concerns of Equality, Writing, Artistic Expression and Creativity, and whatever other crazy offall happens to catch my attention at present. Due to the fore-mentioned split role of blog, personal journal, and extension of my social life, expect eclectic if you're gonna peruse. ^_^
Soon I'm heading to graduate school in Dumfries, Scotland! Going to get my Masters in Folklore and become a real folklorist at last, and hopefully also teach at the college level. I'm very excited about it. Have been wanting to study abroad for years, so this is a great opportunity and really a dream come true for me. Wish me luck!
In the interest of chronicling specifically my adventures in Scotland, for the folks back home and other interested parties, I've made a Dreamwidth account, which leaves out personal stuff and other musings and talks only of me in grad school in Scotland: http://ladytroubadour.dreamwidth.org/
