I have a plane ticket and a date!

August 8th, 2009 (11:56 pm)
crazy

current mood: why yes, I am a complete fool

HOLY CRAP.

September 9th.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm really going to meet Scotland! I have such a giant crush on Scotland. What if Scotland doesn't like me back?! What if I have something in my teeth? What if Scotland dumps me in front of all our friends? OMG what if we get married and have babies omg omg... I wonder what our children will look like, like will it be all "oh, she's got her mother's eyes and her father's... castles."

OH, THE TENDER TURMOIL THAT IS MINE IN THIS MOMENT. <3

I'm off to go write my first name and Scotland's last name surrounded by hearts in my notebook X dozen ^3 times!

Later I will make a cootie-catcher fortune teller, and all the answers will involve me making out with Scotland.

HEHEHEHEHEEE this all really made me laugh!

I think it would be more "They have their mothers eyes, and their fathers moors." LOL LOL LOL !!!

I am so happy for you, this reaffirms for me that we all need to take chances once in a while for we never know where we might end up!

I dunno, have you ever seen my chest? They might've got the moors from me. ;)

Yes, it's important to take the risk and go for it! They tell you to live as if you will die tomorrow, but I say, live life like you're LIVING. :D It's never so awesome as when you do what you love.

I take it they're huge... tracts of land?

LOL! Precisely.

*giggles* but are they covered in heather?

The whole thing about taking risks is a big one for me. I would always talk myself out of doing anything truly risky. But there was this one time though, I risked big, oh so very big, & I ended up meeting the love of my life.

I can't say there weren't a lot of obstacles and assorted debris crowding our path and damn near pushing us off sometimes, but in the end it was one of the best things I've ever done.

There's a movie "Mame" with Rosalind Russell, & in it she says "Yes! Live! Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!"

I think more people need to sit down and consider which side of that quote they are on. Are they the ones living or the ones starving?

SO rock on for Risk Taking!

Wouldn't YOU like to know!

PS:
Good on you for taking that risk, and hooray for the wonderful rewards it yielded!

Hilarious! Especially love the bit about her father's...castles.

September 9 is a month away, holy fuck! Do you have all your passport/visa-type stuff in order?

Posted by: sugar_for_sugar (sugar_for_sugar)
Posted at: August 9th, 2009 05:10 pm (UTC)

I know!!! I have everything EXCEPT my visa, because I'm waiting on needed paperwork which is currently in the mail. It's very tense. But I had to hurry up and get a plane because from how things are looking, my visa is going to be DOWN TO THE WIRE. The longer you wait, the more expensive and hard to come by plane tickets get. :P

MORE TENDER TURMOIL!

Thank you!

Oh you bet. I've made an account on Dreamwidth just for keeping the folks back home up to date on Scottish adventures, and will be keeping my YouTube full of Scotland as well. And I'll link anything especially awesome to here.

They have their mother's tracts of land and their father's lochs. :p

I am picturing you getting down on your knees and kissing Scotland when you land on it.

What's Scotland's last name?

Posted by: sugar_for_sugar (sugar_for_sugar)
Posted at: August 9th, 2009 06:48 pm (UTC)

Well, I only kiss on the first date if we're both really feelin' it. ;)

Since Michigan's last name is USA, Scotland's must be UK.

Groovy. Where you meeting Scotland? Or, which bit are you going to see face-to-face first? Hmm. This question will not sound less dodgy no matter how I phrase it. Oh well. :-)

Oh my, oh my! ;)

I'm landing in Edinburgh so that will be my first impression, but I'm going to school in Dumfries.

Crichton? You'll see a lot of the central belt then, going from Edinburgh to Dumfries. :-) Enjoy! I'm in Troon, up the coast a bit from Dumfries.

You don't know me from Eve, but I'm a lurker over at Shakesville and have over the past few weeks been following several of the links you posted, and I always really enjoy your comments, so that's how I got here, having said all which... WELL DONE YOU, and enjoy! :) Alas that you'll just miss the Edinburgh Fringe this year, but there will be future ones :)

Thank you! :D I intend to enjoy my schooling experience to the full.

Now I need to go look up information about the Edinburgh Fringe...
